Note: This should be done on the SERVER

 

  • Download and install the installer
  • Save it on a different folder (temp) then copy and paste it to the bin folder

Note: If this is an existing customer, you need to make sure you don’t overwrite the INI file

 

  • Edit the INI file (see example image)

System Five Database

Leave the identifier as it is.

Directory should be the client’s data

Department - put 0 if none, if departmentalize, put which department (1 or 2 or 3) ask the customer

Serial – Customers serial number (can be found on their account)

Terminal – ask the customer which terminal they wanted to use (see sample image)

Terminal is 6

Terminal Name – If which terminal number then that’s their terminal name (see above image)

Terminal name is Front Desk 2

 

HTTP

Port – you can decide which port you can use. Normally it’s 2121, 2122 or 215

 

System Five WebAPI Service

Service Name – the API Name (see sample image below)

  • Add the ports on their firewall both Inbound and Outbound
  • Install the API service  you can find this on the bin folder
  • Run the bat file as administrator. It should say Service installed successfully.
  • Open Services, look for the service name

 

 

  • Right click then Properties. Go to Recovery then follow the image below

 

 

 

  • Apply then OK

 

  • Create or clone a login in Windward for API and save it on your notes or ticket for the customer and their dev

                   Example:

                                Username: WEBAPI

                                Password: use this link to create a unique password https://passwordsgenerator.net/

  • Go to Miscellaneous. Enable Use Record-State Tracking  wait until it finishes
  • On Services, you can start the API service. If ever, there’s an error please go to Event Viewer. The errors will be shown there.

 

  • Once it’s running successfully. Please test it on the browser.

  • A login dialogue should pop up. You can use the credentials that you created for the API

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • If successful, it should look like this and your good
