Please Note: It is not recommended by Windward to use a single Barcode Scanner for Sidekick and System 5. Using a single device will be time consuming and will likely require Windward Support to assist each time a switch is made. 

 

Sidekick:

Configure the scanner as per the manufacturer’s instructions so the keyboard wedge mode is enabled with CR (Carriage Return/Enter) suffix enabled.

This configuration will need to happen once if using a dedicated device for Sidekick or before each swap if using one device for both System 5 and Sidekick.




System 5:

Configure as per existing Windward Software Documentation for your specific Scanner Setup with System 5. You can check our Supported Hardware List for the documentation or reach out to Windward Support.
